Robinia sp Pink, 5 seeds
The exact botanical name of this Pink Robinia/Locust Tree is not known. What is known, however, is that it is a rarely seen deciduous, small thorny tree that leafs out in early spring, its alternate, pinnately compound leaves resembling sprigs of grapes. From late spring to early summer, it produces showy, drooping, 5-inch long clusters of light-pink, fragrant, pea-like flowers. The effect is like that of a Pink Wisteria! In addition, all varieties of Robinia sp are legumes and their nitrogen-rich litter decomposes quickly, making nutrients available for surrounding plants' uptake. Hardy to zone 3. 50 feet tall, 30 feet wide. Full sun. Tolerant of salt and widely adaptable to all types of soil and all moisture levels. Hard-to-find seeds, harvested 07/2021.
