In today's craze over Japanese Morning Glories, Ipomoea tricolor are much overlooked, but shouldn't be. All varieties of this plant bears oversized blooms with a characteristic contrasty yellow throat, and some of the earliest blooms can be as big as most of the large-flowered I. nil. Pearly Gates is the cultivar with the pristine white flowers. Smooth, heart-shaped leaves. Very vigorous and easy-to-grow vine. 10 feet or more. Full sun for earliest bloom. Poor soil. Moderate water. Fresh seeds, harvested 11/2019 - 12/2019.
