Cestrum elegans 'Smithii', 10 seeds
Cestrum elegans is a tough and vigorous Mexican shrub that belongs in the gardens of all folks who want a pest-free, self-cleaning, almost ever-blooming and ornamental plant. The exuberant tresses of narrow, elongated trumpet, rosy-pink flowers with flaring star-shaped petals are borne at the end of the branches. Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. These are followed by attractive, satiny cherry berries. Green, lanceolate to oval leaves. Hardy from zone 9 onwards. 8 feet tall, 6 feet wide but can be kept much smaller by severe pruning. Full sun to part shade. Well-drained soil. Drought-tolerant when established. Usually available as plants or cuttings. Rare seeds, harvested 11/2024.
