Native to Africa, the Pink Bubble Grass is a tropical-looking ornamental perennial that grows in compact clumps of attractive bluish-green foliage. In fall, the blades turn purplish-red, adding autumnal interest. But prior that, in summer, it puts out showy panicles of ruby, silky flowers which slowly age to white. Looking vibrantly fresh in sun and heat, Melinis nerviglumis is wonderful at the front of borders or in containers. Hardy from zone 8 onwards. 2 feet tall, 1 1/2 feet wide. Full sun. Regular water. Well-drained soils. Exclusive fresh seeds, harvested 11/2023.
