Isoplexis canariensis, 20 seeds
This beautiful and endangered perennial comes from the Canary Islands and is so rarely seen and cultivated that not many folks can recognize it at first glance. Growing into a upright shrub-like structure, Isoplexis canariensis is handsome year-round with dark green, serrated foliage. Long blooming from spring through frost, the amber-apricot flowers are borne on tall dense spikes above the foliage, much like those of its relative Foxgloves (Digitalis sp), but are of different shape and are showier with bright red stamens. Hardy from zone 9 onwards. Part shade. 5 feet tall and wide. Well-drained, rich soil. Regular watering. Hard-to-find seeds, harvested 10/2017.
