Not to be confused with the purple form of the common herbal sage (Salvia officinalis purpurea), Salvia purpurea doesn't has a common name and is a rarely available species from Central America. It is a highly desirable autumn-into-winter blooming herbaceous perennial that can attain a shrub-lie stature. Each lavender flower is small, but many are packed together at the ends of the branches, making a delight display. Ovate leaves. Hardy from zone 9 onwards. 6 feet tall, 4 feet wide. Full sun to part shade. Rich, well-drained soil. Usually available only in plants/cuttings forms. Exclusive, hard-to-find seeds, harvested 02/2020 - 03/2020.
