This rarely seen variety of Impatiens sodenii subsp sodenii is such a delightful sight! Growing tall with multi branches, 'Flash' is almost ever blooming with exquisite flowers. Each bloom starts off as a tear-shaped bud with a short tail. Then it explodes into a huge white flower with a central magenta "eye". A blooming plant of this in the shade is simply adorable! Blooms almost year-round here in California but is actually native to part of East Africa. Toothed, glossy, lance-shaped leaves. Evergreen in warmer climates and might be deciduous in cooler areas, it can be grown indoor too as a houseplant. Hardy from zone 10 onwards. 4 feet or more. Morning sun. Moist soil. Regular water. Usually available as plants or cuttings. Hard-to-find seeds, harvested 09/2024.
