Native to the cloud forests of the Chiapas province of Mexico, this attractive, upright and airy perennial sage has consistently performed well in a variety of conditions from full inland sun to the shade of oak trees near the coast. A great addition to the hummingbird and/or butterfly gardens, Salvia chiapensis supplies nectar almost throughout the year in northern California with its beautiful pink flowers borne on graceful arching stalks and covered with hairs. Ivy-green, glossy deeply-veined leaves. Hardy from zone 8 upwards. 3 feet tall, 2 feet feet wide. Full sun to part shade. Well-drained soils. Regular water. Exclusive seeds, harvested 06/2024.
