Endemic to eastern Australia, Dusky Coral Pea is rarely grown outside of that country except by vine enthusiasts. An evergreen twining or scrambling plant, it is a fast growing and vigorous perennial that bears interesting elongated, dark red "pea"-like flowers. The loose bunches of blooms appear over a long period of time, from spring through late summer. Handsome hairy, mid-green, glossy leaves. Long flat seed pods in autumn. Tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions, including drought, poor clayish soil and salt spray. Hardy from zone 9 onwards. Full sun. Any garden soil. Not much water. Hard-to-find seeds, harvested 06/2025.
