Cantua buxifolia 'Golden Inca', 5 seeds
Not to be confused with Cantua pyrifolia (also very rare and hard-to-find), this is yellow-white version of Cantua buxifolia, the spectacular sacred flower of the Incas that have many photographers clicking their cameras again and again whenever it blooms. Also known as 'Golden Inca', this newer variety features pendulous blooms with yellow tube flaring white. Dazzling, cheerful and yet still beautiful and elegant. Fast growing with an upright habit, forming a handsome shrub with glossy evergreen foliage here in California (but could be deciduous in cooler regions). Hardy from zone 9b onwards. 7 feet tall, 4 feet wide. Rich, well-drained soil. Part shade. Usually available only as plants or cuttings. Fresh, exclusive seeds, harvested 12/2023.
