A faster grower than its cousin E. wildpretti, the Pride Of Madeira is equally impressive. If you have a cottagy garden and is looking for a rewarding low maintenance plant, you can't go wrong with this. Blooms in spring and the tall, upward curving spikes are simply traffic-stopping. Echium candicans comes in various colors, this one on offer has sky blue flowers. Extremely attractive to bees and birds as well. Hardy from zone 9 onwards. 6 feet tall, 4 feet wide. Drought-tolerant. Well-drained, sandy soil. Tolerant of poor nutrient soil and seaside salt sprays. Fresh seeds, harvested 06/2024.
