Salvia greggii CHERRY, 10 seeds
Defying its common name, this evergreen ornamental perennial flowers not only in autumn. Rather, it behaves like an energizer bunny, blooming 9 months out of 12! The bright-pink, two-lipped, trumpet-shaped flowers of Salvia greggii are very attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies. At times, when the almost continuous bloom gets abit tiring/boring (too much of a good thing ? :-)), just simply cut it back for a prettier shape and enjoy its opposite, small, narrowly oblong leaves until the next flush of blossoms. Hardy from zone 7 onwards. 3 feet tall and wide. Full sun to half-day of sun, and any well-drained garden soils. Drought tolerant when established, can take extreme sun and heat. Also tolerant of regular water on a weekly basis if you want to interplant this with other plants that need more water. Very fresh seeds, harvested 10/2024.
