Fuchsia microphylla ssp Hidalgensis, 15 seeds
Encliandras Fuchsias originate from the high areas of the tropical rain forests in Central America. These are usually characterized by small flowers and have 4 stamens protruding beyond the rim of the tube instead of the usual 8 as per other Fuchsias. If you are a Fuchsia collector and have not yet looked into the species, here is one Encliandra that would merit a place in your garden. Fuchsia microphylla ssp Hidalgensis is a vigorous growing, and trouble-free upright perennial that will flower profusely, almost year-round. The pinkish-tinge white blooms are probably the smallest in the world of Fuchsias, but produced in such multitudes that they shine out like jewels from the foliage, creating a gentle, pretty effect. These are followed by little green berries that turn black upon ripening. The tiny, green, roundish, fern-like leaves are perfectly in proportion to the blooms. Such daintiness makes this plant a perfect subjet for bonsai, although if grown as a taller shrub, it would also be a highlight in any garden. Hardy from zone 9 onwards. 3 feet tall and wide. Part shade, but tolerates full sun. Rich, moist soil. Regular watering. Exclusive seeds, harvested 09/2024.
