Cestrum aurantiacum, 10 seeds
Cestrum aurantiacum, a Guatemalan native is an almost impossible to find, yet incredibly beautiful shrub. In bloom nearly year round in warmer zones such as California, it bears clusters of elongated tubular, golden-yellow flowers with flaring star-shaped petals at the end. Exude a delightful citrus fragrance in the evening and age to orangy-yellow. These are followed by attractive, white, somewhat roundish berries. Green, lanceolate to oval leaves. Often sold as plants/cuttings as seeds are very hard to come back. Hardy from zone 9 onwards. 10 feet tall, 8 feet wide but can be kept much smaller by severe pruning. Full sun to part shade. Well-drained soil. Regular water. Hard-to-find fresh seeds, harvested 03/2022.
