Not to be confused with the perennial Blue Dawn Morning Glory (Ipomoea indica), the Dawn Star is an annual of the species purpurea. An heirloom with a vigorous growth habit, this delightful vine easily covers any trellis provided. From summer till frost, it features beautiful blue flowers each with a vivid central darker blue star and a pink throat. These bloom age to pinkish with a violet star before closing. Heart-shaped leaves, uniquely colored blonde seeds. 10 feet or more. Full sun for earliest bloom. Poor soil. Moderate water. Fresh seeds, harvested 12/2021. Open-pollinated.
