Fuchsia boliviana, 25 seeds
The Bolivian Fuchsia is a showy, fast growing perennial native to South America. With many arching stems of long, slender blooms that flare into scarlet sepals, it is generally considered to be one of the most beautiful Fuchsias in the world. The very popular white form of this plant needs no introduction, as it has now become more generally available even though still rare. Here is the extremely hard-to-find, totally red form. Every bit just as a gorgeous as its sibling, and in my yard, more attractive to hummingbirds due to its strong, emphatic color. But you don't have to take my words for it, grow both and let the hummers in your yard decide, :-). Large, soft, green leaves. Hardy from zone 9 upwards. 5 feet tall, 3 feet wide. Light shade. Moist, rich soil. Hard-to-find fresh seeds, harvested 09/2024.
