Iochroma cyaneum 'Trebah', 10 seeds
From Central America comes this rare and gorgeous perennial relative of the Angel Trumpets (Brugmansia) with smaller leaves and more refined flowers. A gem that is often covered in large clusters of vivid plum, long tubular flowers that flare 1/2" at the tips. Not to be confused with 'Plum Paradise' which has slightly bigger blooms that flare more at the tip, this Iochroma cyaneum can be considered comparatively as a 'Narrow Plum'. Flowering almost year round here in California. Really eye-catching! Hardy from zone 8 onwards. 6 feet tall and wide. Full sun to part shade. Average garden soil. Moderate water needs, do not overwater. One of the photo shows the color palette of Iochroma cyaneum -- from left to right are Royal Blue, Indigo, Purpe/Violet, Trebah, Wine Red and Plum Paradise. This particular variety is hard to find in all forms (plants/cuttings/seeds). Exclusive fresh seeds, harvested 08/2024.
