A very beautiful, huge and impressive Salvia that flowers from summer through autumn in California. Rarely listed in Salvia books, Salvia adenophora is a semi-deciduous species from Oaxaca, Mexico. Flowering spikes are big, showy and "dense". Hairy, orangy-red, short fat, "inflated" flowers, green calyx with a hint of brown at the tip. Big, med-green spade-shaped, prominently veined leaves with serrated edges. 6 feet tall and wide. Full sun to part shade. Average, well-drained soil. Very rare and exclusive seeds, harvested 01/2024.
