An introduction by the Monterey Bay Nursery, this hybrid flowering maple is a vigorous grower that forms an open, upright vining habit. Shrub-like but takes well to pruning, making it a great container subject. Evergreen, tts green small, narrow pointed leaves are highly variegated, featuring irregular splashes and flecks of bright yellow. Blooms almost year round here in California. Its pendant, lantern-shaped, very ornamental flowers with red sepal open light apricot yellow and age to deep coral peach. Hardy from zone 8 onwards. 5 feet tall and wide. Filtered sun. Rich, evenly moist soil. Usually available only in plant/cutting forms. Exclusive rare seeds, harvested 08/2025.
