The name says it all. This cool-season annual is an easy-to-grow plant with see-through, ferny, delicate foliage that might be mistaken as Edwardian lace. Flowering in late spring, the beautiful charming and exotic-looking blooms seem to float in a mist from afar. Starting out bicolor, each flower interestingly gradually darkens to sky blue and then purplish-blue. Its papery, balloon-shaped seed pods are just as decorative and interesting, bearing horns like devils. A favorite of the famous English garden designer Gertrude Jekyll, who lent her name to this plant and once wrote "A plant I hold in high admiration." 2 feet tall, 1 feet wide. Full sun. Well-drained soil. Average water. Fresh seeds, harvested 06/2021.
