This rarely offered Sage from the Canary Islands is handsome both in and out bloom. A huge impressive shrub clothed in thick, distinctly arrow-shaped leaves, it can be incorporated into any gardens to add texture and color just by the glorious foliage alone. From summer through autumn however, the blooms of Salvia canariensis take center stage, long inflorescences topped with purple flowers borne in magenta calyx and papery bracts, extremely colorful. After blooming, the bracts remain and continue the show. Hardy from zone 9 onwards. 6 feet and wide. Full sun. Well-drained garden soils. Drought-tolerant once established. Exclusive, fresh seeds, harvested 08/2025.
