An easy woody perennial, though slow to get started, it rewards the patient gardener with the most spectacular show from spring through summer. Evergreen here in California but could be semi-evergreen elsewhere, this vigorous selection of the Cross Vine attaches itself to almost anything with tendrils and bears thick glossy, compound leaves, making it a handsome climber with good vertical coverage. The big exclamation point comes when it is loaded with abundant of tangerine, trumpet-shaped flowers each with a yellow throat. So floriferous and so flamboyant that it always stop passerbys who are then amazed to learn this exotic-looking plant is actually hardy! A hummingbird favorite. Grows in about any condition except for the poorest driest soils. Hardy from zone 6 onwards. Full sun to part shade. Average watering. 30 feet tall but can be pruned hard after blooming to keep size small. Usually available only in plant form. Rare fresh seeds, harvested 09/2023 - 10/2023 & 05/2024
