Impatiens telekii/mildbraedii subspp telekii, 5 seeds
These are probably the only photos of this extremely rare African plant that you can ever find on the internet. Impatiens telekii is a low-growing/procumbent species native to Congo, Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda. Seldom seen and often mistaken with the similar but "fatter" Butterfly Impatiens (I. hoenellii), this plant makes up for its small stature with a good solid flower punch. Each pale pink bloom is a little cutie, shaped like a dancer with her arm thrown up in the air. It is relatively new to me, so I do not have zone hardiness information. Part shade. 6" tall, 1 foot wide. Rich, moist soil. Regular watering. Exclusive, fresh seeds, harvested 06/2011.
