Schizanthus pinnatus WHITE/LIGHT PINK, 40 seeds
A short-lived annual from Chile, but probably the most unusual and beautiful. The exotic 1-inch flowers are borne in profusion on tall upright branches, contrasted beautifully by the feathery, equally delicate-looking foliage. Each light pink (almost white), orchid-like flower has incredible markings in the throat, set against a yellow center surrounded by a ring of reddish-orange. The petals are irregularly shaped, and reminds many people of butterflies. 2 feet tall, 1 foot wide. Part shade, not tolerant of hot temperatures. Rich soil and average water needs. Hard-to-find exclusive seeds, harvested 06/2009.
