Ipomoea nil 'Shibori Leaf Bloom', 5 seeds
If you are the kind of folks who dislike uniformity or who get bored easily, then you will adore this mutant Japanese Morning Glory (Ipomoea nil). Similar to the Aomurasakizyouhantensibori Morning Glory (Ipomoea purpurea 'Bluish Purple Flaked'), the Flying Saucers Morning Glory (Ipomoea tricolor 'Flying Saucers'), the Kaleidoscope Four O'Clock (Mirabilis jalapa 'Broken Colors'), the Splish Splash Geranium and the Hot Lips Little Leaf Sage (Salvia microphylla 'Hot Lips'), this one bears flowers that are unique individuals, all on the same plant. Some flowers are totally white, some totally purple, some white with little purple streaking, some half-white half-purple and etc. But this morning glory goes one step further to a new height never seen before in other Japanese Morning Glories -- even its leaves are shiboried! Thus on the same plant, don't be surprised to find leaves that are totally green, totally chartreuse, and half-chartreuse half green! So if you are bored of the flowers already, look at the leaves for an additional "entertainment"! :-) A hard-to-find easy-to-grow MUTANT. 8 feet or more. Full sun for earliest bloom. Poor soil. Moderate water. Very rare seeds, harvested 05/2011.
