Salvia darcyi, 10 seeds
Salvia darcyi is an extremely attractive, stoloniferous, rare deciduous perennial native to Mexico. Blooming from early summer onwards, the long terminal racemes of bright, fire-engine red, large flowers with purplish-red calyxes are simply spectacular. The show continues till late December and this is a period of great delight for the hummingbirds who revisit often to sip nectar. Triangular, sticky leaves. Hardy from zone 7 onwards. 6 feet tall, 4 feet wide. Full sun to light shade. Regular watering. Usually available only in plant or cuttings form, very rare seeds, harvested 07/2016 - 11/2016.
